China Research and Development Center

3M China Research & Development Center is from 3M Technical Center. Over the past ten years, 3M develops new products to satisfy Chinese market and customer base on its 42 core technologies. It is serving for chemical industry, electronics industry, telecommunication, medical treatment, traffic, security, consumption markets etc, it also contributes to relative high-tech projects and production localization, with which, our clients are able to enjoy 360 degree technical support ranging from technique service, new products development, solution finding to process design.

Today the 3M China R&D center has 330 technical service staff, including 26 Doctor degree holders, 132 Master degree holders, and 137 bachelor degree holders, and the team is expected be over 500 members by 2007. Other 3 Technical Centers are in Beijing, Guangzhou and Suzhou.

With rapid development of 3M China Ltd., the 3M R&D Center also further upgrades its technology with rapid speed. The new 3M China R&D Center is a US$40 million investment, 3M's fourth largest R&D facility worldwide with 40 world-class labs totaling 16,000 sqm of floor space, including 3M's first 110 kilovolt high-voltage lab. R&D personnel and technicians from various 3M fields are exchanging views and conducting research here to create new products for the Chinese market to meet the growing needs of Chinese customers. 3M is also expediting the R&D of new products locally by introducing a state-of-the-art technical platform, manifesting 3M's trademark innovation.
